Students of Pisay CVC secured a plaque and three bronze medals in the recent National Science Conquest last January 30 after topping the first round of the competition.
Team B, composed of Edrian Liao, Luis Salum, Yurev Carag, and alternate Niño Dannug competed against 38 other schools, garnering the top score in the elimination round and winning third place in the finals.
NSC qualifying round was a google form test on four areas, with the top 6 teams advancing to the final round.
The final round was a quiz bee on different topics concerning Science and Technology in 12 categories, in which, at the end of the round, Team B landed on third place.
In an interview, Liao emphasized the importance of scientific knowledge and constant monitoring given by the PSHS education in helping the team achieve their goal.
“The hardest part was communicating with the group considering the online setup brought upon by the pandemic-induced quarantine restrictions that limit social interactions,” Salum shared.
Liao was also given a medal as the Top Scorer for the eliminations round.
Team A comprised of Ma. Jazmine Suñga, Karminia Reyes, Darylle Galang, and alternate Ada Plata also qualified to the finals in the said competition.
