PSHS 2020 NCE-RACE results released

DOST-PSHS System released the list of qualified incoming Grade 7 scholars for School Year 2021-2022 on February 20, 2021.

Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Science High School System (DOST-PSHS System) released the list of qualified incoming Grade 7 scholars for School Year 2021-2022 on February 20, 2021.

The principal qualifiers passed the two-stage selection process through the Requirements for Admission, Criteria and Evaluation (RACE) conducted in January and February and are eligible to enroll in their respective region campuses.

Due to the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PSHS System RACE replaced the commonly known PSHS National Competitive Exam (NCE) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease among the examinees who will gather in the testing areas around the country.

This procedure was divided into two stages–the applicant’s predicted NCE grade (PNG) is determined based on their final grades in Science and Mathematics in Grade 5 in the first stage.

Moreover, the passers who were qualified in the first stage were required to take an essay test and submit their academic rank at the end of the 5th grade.

The top 240 applicants in the second stage can enter the PSHS- Main Campus (MC) while the top 120 students in the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, Central Mindanao and Southern Mindanao regions and top 90 qualifiers in CAR, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga regional campuses will be considered as the principal qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the PSHS System declared that the deadline for slot confirmation was set on March 6, 2021 and March 20, 2021 for the Main Campus qualifiers and regional campus qualifiers, respectively.

Lastly, alternate qualifiers will be announced on March 22, 2021 who can fill up the slots available for the campuses.
